There are kennels available for guest's pets.
It's nearby some monuments such as the majestic Convento de Mafra with, amongst other wonders, its librabry and organ which are from the 18th century. You can also find nearby the Tapada de Mafra and the Mosteiro de São Dinis de Odivelas, founded in the 13th century (baroque architecture). In the area of Turcifal you can find some churches which date from before the 1755 Earthquake (more precisely 14th century).
Ideal place for walking/cycling tours, by horse aswell and also the Cabeço de Montachique park with tennis courts and pedestrian circuits.
Just 25 minutes away from the beaches of Ericeira, where you can enjoy the beautiful sea landscapes
surfing, etc
The english cottage is a familiar property located in Vale de Sao Gião village, in the portuguese countryside, just 20 minutes away from Lisbon. The hosts give their guests a totally independent part of the house within the property. They can enjoy the wonderful gardens (which had been published in the english magazine "House and Garden" in the 90's).
Welcome To The English Cottage
Come relax in a small cottage with access to pleasant gardens where you will find some family animals such as laying hens, sweet cats and friendly dogs. Depending on the season, you can also find the miranda donkey which is a characteristic subspecies of the region of Terra de Miranda, Portugal. Present in the environment since remote times, this variety of donkey adapted to the orographic conditions of the region and the soil poor in nutrients. Having enjoyed great popularity in the past, today the animal is at risk of extinction. The majestic peacock Rodolfo and the pigeons.
You can still enjoy the pool where a pleasant warmth is felt in about 6 months a year (at the moment in works but that can be replaced by the swimming pool of the village where the cottage inserts).
